Obituary of Ann Shirley Telecky
Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ann S. Telecky passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2025 at Brookdale Hearthstone Assisted Living Center, Moses Lake, WA. The daughter of Max and Dorothy Reed, Ann was born on December 30th, 1943, the second of four children. While living in Shiloh, IL with her three boys, she met her neighbor Michael Telecky who was stationed at Scott Air Force Base. Ann’s son Dion decided to play Cupid for Mike and Ann and asking Mike to take his mom out for a beer. Dion even gave Mike five dollars for the beer. Cupid’s arrow found its mark, and on May 22nd, 1982 Mike and Ann were married. Mike retired from the Air Force in 1982 and he and Ann moved to Ritzville with their blended family.
Ann’s great gift in life was that of a care giver and she saw to her family’s every need with love and kindness. Having so much love to share, she decided that it also made perfect sense to share it with the residence at Life Care in Ritzville. She began her career of care giving at Life Care as a CNA and after a few years she transitioned into the position of Activities Director. Ann worked at Life Care until her retirement several years ago. Ann always liked to keep busy and be involved. She loved life on the farm and thoroughly enjoyed helping Mike raise pigs. She loved every one of those little piglets, especially “Snout.” She also loved walking her dogs Sissy and Oakley around the farm. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed doing ceramics, painting on glassware and volunteering at both the Burroughs and Depot Museums. Ann attended the Emanuel Lutheran Church and she received much joy quilting with the Lutheran Ladies Quilting Group.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Max and Dorothy, her brother Jerry, sisters’ Diane and Becky, and her son Dion Dill. She is survived by her husband Michael, sons John Dill (Kathy), and James Dill (Stacy), and step-daughters Sandi Telecky and Beth Rein. Ann is also survived by grandchildren Jonathan Brown (Beth), Andrew Dill, T.J. Dill (Nikayla), Katie Cameron (Thomas), step-grandchildren Travis Boling (Cat) and Serenity Rein, numerous great-grandchildren, and nieces Dory and Brenda.
